AgriPV for fruit and horticulture
Row spacing is essentially determined by the type of fruit being grown, and the division into two groups has proven effective in practice: Lower elevations for berry crops or horticulture and higher elevations for tree crops such as pome or stone fruit crops.
For both types of installation, row spacing is 5-6 m, resulting in the high connected loads per hectare (ha) shown in the table below as well.

The new DIN SPEC 91492 specifies the requirements for the use of animals in AgriPV.

This regulation, which will enter into force in June 2024, aims to promote the sustainable integration of photovoltaic systems into farms while ensuring animal welfare.
Specifically, DIN SPEC 91492 defines minimum standards for the construction and operation of AgriPV systems that are installed in areas with livestock farming. These include regulations for the safe design of the systems to minimize the risk of injury to animals, as well as requirements for access to shade and protected areas. Furthermore, the systems must be designed in such a way that they do not conflict with the animals' natural movement and behavior patterns.
We have specifically designed our AgriPV systems to meet this new standard. We ensure that our systems meet the high requirements of DIN SPEC 91492:2024-06. This makes the dual use of agricultural land for energy production and animal husbandry harmonious and sustainable by prioritizing both the efficiency of energy production and the welfare of the animals.
Together with the farmer/investor, we create a concept that takes the above points into account.
